Before my surgery on the 13/09/2012 I had my girlfriend help me do a self portrait shoot. The last shoot before my body was altered forever.This image is documentation of my pre op body. I grew oddly comfortable in the transitional state that embodied asthetic triggers of both male and female genders. I want to share this work so that others with similar bodies will know they are not totally alone. This body isn't normal by normal standards, but it's not grotesque or freakish either. It just is.

Exactly. Everyone is beautiful in one way or another, that doesn't change just because your trans or gay, male or female, black or white, and I hate when people say it matters. I was always taught if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything, but I prefer to find something good to say, since there always is

As others have said agreeing with you, there is nothing wrong with your body here, it just is and since I have no standard of 'normal', its just fine, your body is beautiful no matter what, as long as you're happy <3 I'm glad to hear that in a way you were comfortable with it and I feel you in the respect that it had asthetics of both sexes. You are so brave for doing this and I really respect that, it takes a lot to do something like this
Also, your girlfriend did a wonderful job taking these pictures, thought I should add that too <3

My girlfriend did indeed do a wonderful job with these shots. She knows exactly how I see a photograph since we work together a lot and with minimal direction she captured exactly the angles I would have wanted.

So now that's out the way, lets discuss the picture itself.
It was awesome how your body looked and embodied the aspects of both your past and your present. Its supernice for me to hear that you had a comfort at this stage, because it upset me often if I thought you were uncomfortable.
For me... is it weird that even after your surgery you're the same to me? I know obviously there are scars and there's no breasts there, but... I dunno. I think the moment you came out to me, you ceased to be a gender, you were just the Ku, and so no matter how your body is or was, you remain a constant with me. SORRY IF THAT'S NOT A GOOD THING.

It is a good thing to see a person as a person no matter what. If only more people could feel the way you do, many more folks in this world would be able to shine.
Thank you so much for taking such sensitive photos with me, and for composing them like I wanted. You are so observant and in tune with the work I wanted to do. I couldn't have asked anyone else to do this unless I somehow managed to clone myself. You took direction so well!

I am blown away. I am just utterly speechless and amazed at how amazingly brave you are. God, I admire you so, so much. This piece is beautiful, and god, I love your description. Because you're right. There is nothing freakish or wrong about this body. Or bodies like it. It's a part of you, and even altered with surgery, it will always have BEEN a part of you. And that's something to feel close to. Something to hold on to. And that's so special.
I am just... so proud of you. And so stuck by how far you've come and how much you've developed. I have so much respect for you. More than I think I can realistically express here. But, man, Ku... you are *incredible*.

There you are. This work is so incredible and honest and kudos to you for exposing yourself in such a raw, honest state. The beard and breasts, they say a lot, as does your belly and general posture. I love how you're lounging and presenting all aspects, from top to bottom, of a sexualised pre op, T-blooded body. The hairiness, the belly you developed due to the T, just... all of it.
No, nothing freakish about this body at all, and that's wonderful. I think this photo will help many people.

There's something beautifully honest about this image. I love the sharpness and constrast of the hairs on the pale skin too <3 Your lips and beard catch my attention more than the say "obvious" aspects of the picture, and I'm not sure why - there's just something quiet and reflective about it :3

I have to say, I had the same reaction to this image--the first part of it I was drawn to was Ku's lips and beard. The expression is just fantastic, I'm really glad you didn't crop it out!
