Had dinner at Greenmount SLSC for my bday this evening, and while waiting i snuck down to snapper rocks to have a bit of a play. Slow shutter photography is definately my favourite so i was VERY pleased to discover that my new d80 will let me go below f22 in shutter priority mode. Hallelujah! Smaller apertures for longer exposures even with a reasonable level of daylight without ND8 filter. YES!Related content

Yup I do like these slow shutter speed shots. It is funny but for some reason (ignorance comes to mind) I thought that the Gold Coast area of Australia was all white sandy beaches but there are lots of rocks eh. Looks really beautiful

most of the beaches are clear with no rocks but every so often there is a rocky point or breakwall. Snapper rocks is a very cool outcrop and the waves break over them nicely at high tide. unfortunately i was there during low tide this time but the one i have on my page as my fav is an example.

Happy Birthday! Another nice slow shutter speed image . You do seem to have away with them. Sounds like you are enjoying the new camera. The real test will be after you have a wee bit of scotch......
