Here she is!! Meet...

SANGRIA


As mentioned in a recent journal, I have decided to create a brand new character, in hopes of getting a more original design, lmao. I just hope others enjoy her too,

And yes, I know that the name comes from a fruity red wine, hehe. That was my point,


Name: Sangria
Age: About 12 years
Family: unknown

Story: Raised by Mother Earth herself, Sangria knows nothing about her family and was simply found by Mother Earth (who would take the form of what she would be communicating with, so no one really knew which was the real her) wandering around the open regions left over from a volcano eruption. Mother Earth tried to remove Sangria from the vast and empty area, but Sangria refused to leave, she said that she felt a connection with the volcano...

She's gorgeous! I love her leg markings, they ARE very unique. Sangria is a beautiful name and her mane is beautiful with the dark blue streaks. I love the necklace, too <3

Hahahaha, that is another reason why I have been sticking more with digital artwork, lmao. Unlimited colors to pick from, lmao.

But, on a more serious topic, if you truly want rare colors in colored pencils, try to get to a local Hobby Lobby or major art supply store, because they will usually have an area where you can actually buy single colored pencils from a large selection of colors. I found that many sets of colored pencils would NOT include a nice dark purple, so I found Prismacolor singles,

I love the colour and the markings,did you use a brush for the butterfly?If I ever get the chance to draw her for you I would like to get it as acurrate as possible XD

I like the colours of the wings and the eye marking is very stiking.

Yes, I used a brush for the butterfly, but it was one I created myself, . I use Photoshop CS3, so if I were to export the brush pattern, would it work in other versions? Or, I could just submit a picture of the butterfly, hehe.

wow... if it was originality you were striving for, I don't think you'll need to worry about any other characters looking alot like her

she seriously looks great The colors all come together really nicely. The black looks great against the dark burgundy red and the silver swirls and spots are a really nice touch. (especially around the eyes, which also stand out really nicely with the bright blue)


hmm... even though my wings SUCK, I may just have to try and draw some fanart of her sometime, yesss

And I would be tickled to have a fan art piece done of my new character

Just keep in mind that her facial markings are "asymmetrical" which means that the swirl under the eye and the spots going down the face are only on her right side, and the spots on her cheek is only on her left one, hehe. The leg markings are symmetrical for the most part, and they go all the way down the legs of her hind legs, but only down to her knees of her front ones, I should've just put this info on the submission, hehe.
