This is actually not intended to make fun of Ashfur himself. Not that he's my favorite character - far from it. It's really a parody of Warriors fanart.

Well. A few months ago I realized just how many pieces of Ashfur fanart involve Ashfur hanging out making pained facial expressions in a picture that, were he removed from it, would be a cute Bramble x Squirrel couple picture or family portrait, or a dramatic shot of the Three in the middle of a fire. This is especially prevalent when you mentally rotate art with Ashfur in the foreground and, say, Bramble and Squirrel cuddling in the background to see what Ashfur looks like from that perspective. (Hint: a photobomber.)

Bonus joke: Intensifying Red Eyes Of Insanity. I suspect that this effect as used for Ashfur was made popular by flightfootwarrior's awesomeness, and it works fantastically in her style, but when it starts popping up in everyone and their grandma's Ashfur art, it gets downright funny.

Finally, this isn't making fun of anyone's art or saying that the aforementioned style is crap or laughing at Ashfur's cut-open-and-bleeding-blood-onto-the-ground-every-day-of-my-life pain or anything like that. It also isn't directed at anyone in particular. Yeah, plenty of famous Warriors fanartists have drawn pictures like this, but a lot of less famous people have too. That's why I noticed this trend in the first place. And that's all I'm doing - chuckling at a trend.

In conclusion: Ashfur is the resident ThunderClan photobomber.
