Description Both axe men in The Brainbell Janglers [link] were quite adept at playing slide.

i like the motion blur... or the way you zoomed in on the fingers on a delayed exposure. compliments the notion of 'sliding'.
the more your eye darts around the more the image seems to move, and the more the image seems to move the more the eye darts around...

I made three layers of the orignal in Photoshop.
On one layer, I used a radial zoom blur, centered on the hand with the slide,
then knocked a hole in the blur over the hand with a widely featherd eraser.
This kept a sharper focus at the center point.
Then reduced the opacity of that layer to keep a bit of the original detail showing under the blur.
On the other layer, I added some orangey red glow to some of the really light areas and reduced the opacity on that a bit as well.
Or something like that.

I shall endeavor to explain.
We saw an amazing band over Thanksgiving - The Brainbell Janglers.
Both guitar players played slide guitar (using a glass or metal tube instead of
pressing the strings with one's fingers)
And they played reall really well.
Crowd loved it.

These guys were a really cool band.
Not only did they do a lot of double harmonizing leads ala the Allman Brothers,
but they did some double slide leads.
That was the first time I'd ever seen something like that.
