Zuko's been hit enough times in the head with different objects that I've come to question his ability to do anything right.

I always found it funny that Sokka basically killed the guy, but that's never an issue. He's like posing. The whole gaang's outlook on death disturbs me a little (in all the right ways).
Zuko HAS taken a lot of brain/head/face damage, hasn't he? He was probably dropped as a baby too.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that was the true reason. Forget all that "honor" and "respect" stuff that Ozai and Zuko are always shouting about - the real reason was all about the crying.
