Description It's Arisia! Yes, the cute little GL elf-chick everybody likes to draw, and now I finally have too. Mainly because I kinda felt bad about leaving her out of my big group-Lantern shot, but also because I recently read the 1981 trilogy "Tales of the Green Lantern Corps", which contains her introduction to the Corps. (Any GL fans who haven't read this yet, I highly reccommend it. It is EPIC. Among other things, the Guardians actually _get off their butts and DO stuff_. Wow.)

Felt like drawing her in her (near) original look from the mid-'80s, with the little cloak, instead of her more modern comic or cartoon versions. Why? Because.
(And is it just me, or does anybody else look at that outfit and think something like: "In the name of Graxos IV, I WILL PUNISH YOU!!" Itty-bitty coloured skirt with white leotard and gloves...COME ON! Sailor Willpower!)

I also have absolutely _no_ idea what she's whacking with a giant anime-girl hammer (my first time drawing an actual ring-construct, by the way), or why she looks so happy about it. None.
But hey, why not?

It is a cute picture and Arisia is a great character. If i recall right ( which i might not ) even though she was a teenager by her own worlds standards ( and by ours physically and mentally ) she was still older than Hal in earth years.

I was just pleased to see her brought back after DC had Major Force kill her. And if any Green lantern were to create an anime-girl hammer, it would be Arisia, who i could imagine would love watching that stuff

Awww, thanks. I'm also rather appreciating her newer look in the Green Lantern game that came out recently--in which she looks adult, and has not only a fully covering, decent costume, but actual ARMOUR. Like, the character-designs in "Green Lantern: First Flight", especially on Boodikka? That kind of thing. Wow, female fighters wearing stuff that might actually help protect them in battle. What is the world COMING to?!

And yes, if any of the main GL's would watch anime, I can totally see it being Arisia. I can see her as liking the zany comedies, too, such as Ranma 1/2 and such.

isn't that also the same comic where she basically double's her physical age to get hal to like her? .-.

Well, from that general era. (And yeah, NOT one of Hal's best moments...although...I blame the writing. Normally he's not quite THAT sleazy...) Her first outfit was the standard version, so nothing new to draw there, and I'm not a fan of the later comic versions of her outfit--with the neckline being all plunging and skimpy. But, the original was kinda cute...if the artwork had been better. (It wasn't hideous as art in general, but something about everybody's faces looked kinda clay-like and ugly.)
Or, I could've done her new animated movie version. But everybody does that. Whereas, very few people draw her with the little cloak.

Frankly I'm not sure _what_ age she's supposed to be in this picture--teen or adult. I never quite decided myself, so I guess it's up to each individual viewer.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to post this so I can stop looking at your avatar. Because, while I'm not prone to seizures, OW MY EYES!!

hahaha, yeah, that was just...awkward...
gotta agree, i dislike the over-sexualized costume, i like the usual animated one, where the neckline attaches to her collar thing, haha
old artwork is painful to read sometimes, haha...
the cloak is pretty cute though. i may have to make a lil one to put on my arisia figure
okays, sorry ^^'
