Description
Probably my most favorite place: Zuratkul National Park in the Ural mountains. It has misty mountains, rocky ridges, stone rivers(water runs under the river of boulders and you don't see it), taiga woods, tundra woods, alpine meadows and Zuratkul lake in the middle of it all.This is done with brushpen and watercolors from a ridge.

Ah, now this warms my heart- I once spent a lot of time in Eastern Europe painting scenes in a sketchbook of the same type, tho' somewhat smaller.

Drawing from life outside is the coolest experience! You remember your travels so vividly, cause cause you stopped to really look at the place.

I know! It's amazing how even a rough sketch done from life can preserve details you wouldn't have noticed otherwise. This is one I did in Budapest back on the 70's- like you, with pen and watercolour. travels 6

I will need it. Lately we have strange weather fenomena: just above freezing temperatures in the middle of the summer for several days. And it so happens that I'm always on an art trip in this exact days! So winter boots, winter jacket and I'm drawing with gloves on and in the rain XD
