OMG childhood memories. I read one or two of those comics when I was... eleven?
This fits so well - knife, claw neck lace, belt, ... - that it looks like right out of the comics; I recognize the character immediately with or without the title.
Background fits, too.
So, pretty picture + perfect details + nostalgia + general love for adventure stories = my cerebral cortex is all sparkly.

I have no knowledge of photography to critique this, but I noticed one thing: isn't the character too clean? The fingernails and hands are clean, no scratches or dirt anywhere on the skin, and I'd say the hair has been combed within the last hour. It doesn't match with someone living in the wild, but I guess it fits with the comics, so maybe it's not important.
