**Sorry that the picture quality isn't the greatest, but it's because I took the photograph this evening. I'll try to get a better one soon!**I'm definitely going to apply to the School of Visual Arts in NYC! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I really hope I get accepted! I'm sitting my SAT exam on January 28th, and I'm also working on my application essay.
For the portfolio, I need to have 15 to 20 pieces, and so far I have 11. I have six more to do before the February 1st deadline (eeek! no sleep for me!). I started this piece just before Christmas, and finished it yesterday, spending three days working on it.
I'm not that great at still lives (?) but I really like how this one came out.

Eventually I didn't apply to SVA :/ I was having problems contacting their admissions office, plus I found that it was pretty pricey and I had no chance for a scholarship.
I'm hoping to go to my local community college and then try again later on for schools overseas!

yeah me too i didn't apply to sva again because of the same reasons but have you checked out SCAD? they offer really good scholarships based on academics & your portfolio. they even accept CAPE and qualify cape students for advanced standing

I'm so "jelly" of your coloring skills, Carla. Ugh! Anyways, good luck with applying; I don't think you need it though. I'm sure you'll do fine.
For some reason, I love how you did the Converse shoe in particular. I can't put my finger on why though. It's just wonderful.

To be honest, I meant to clean off the Converse before putting it in the still life, but my mom said that it 'added character', haha.

*Gasp* this is amazing! I am in college already (not a super cool art school or anything) but I cant even do still-lives this good! Im sure you will get in, this is nice, I love the shininess of the high heeled shoe!
