Description What if? Right? What if.

BECAUSE A SPORTS MINIGAME COMPILATION IS NOT AT ALL WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR, NINTENDO!

Outstanding concept! Sonic curling up in a Koopa Shell is my favorite bit. They say Koopa shells are tougher than rocks, so I could definitely see that being used to Sonic's advantage, as both a shield item and a weapon. Mario with Tails' tails can work. He can fly with them, just like with the Super Leaf, and I wouldn't be surprised if they allowed him to speed up his spinning tail attack either. I can see something else, behind Sonic's logo is a cross between a flying Prize/"?" Block and a Monitor. That is really creative! It's all really creative, including the Death Egg sitting on top of the castle.

another thing I heard why Nintendo and/or SEGA aren't keen on an action crossover is because they think it's too weird to see Mario collecting rings. But I honestly think that's not such a bad idea. If they wanted they could do like Generations, Levels meant for Mario focus more on platforming, and those for Sonic more on speed, can't they?

If there was an ACTUAL Mario/Sonic crossover sans Smash Bros, they better give us the chance to play as Wario and Shadow.

Hero Mode: Team Sonic (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy), Team Mario (Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach)
Dark Mode: Team Dark (Shadow, Rouge, Omega), Team Wario (Wario, Waluigi, Boshi)
Extra Mode: Donkey Kong and Silver

I agree with you. I HATE THE OLYMPIC SERIES!! SCREW YOU SEGA FOR RUINING MY DREAMS OF SEEING THESE TWO CROSSOVER!!!! Sorry... but I hate the series.

It's Sega who made the series, actually. Blame them.

Don't worry, I blame sega for enough things, but Nintendo has had a bad rep for playing it too safe lately anyway.

Well, according to Sega - who is the one who makes the Mario & Sonic games - they don't because the gameplay differs a bit too much - Mario being objective based and Sonic being speed based.

That sounds a little bit like when Nintendo said that it was impossible to put Wario in NSMBW because he would have to have the ability to fart.

Which Miyamoto was kinda' saying in a joking fashion, I believe. The real reason is that Wario really wouldn't care about Peach.

But yeah. And yes, I realize there's fridge logic "why not make it 2D? They're both the same", but Sega doesn't seem to be too fond of it.

So why did Wario tag along in sm64ds? For that matter, he had plenty of incentive to join the fun in nsmb2.

Also, as far as sega goes, you'd think by now they'd realize that 2d is their friend.

Cause of cake.

As far as Sega goes, their LAST 2D endeavor didn't sell that well, which was why they stopped at Episode 2 rather than going to the planned Episode 3. And don't say it was because it was Dimps, they did the rather successful Sonic Advance series and Sonic Rush series.

I'm just saying that their foray into the third dimension has left a lot of fans wanting. Their 2d games tend to have a much better feel and construction altogether. In regards to this picture, I went with the graphic style that each company used back in the nineties in order to pose a "what if" that takes place during the 16-bit console wars.

That, I'm aware of. I'm just pointing out that lately, their 2D Efforts have been brushed aside once their 3D ones got more love. *Shrugs* The Sonic fandom is one of the worst fandoms, I guess.

Maybe Nintendo just doesn't like having too much money thrown at them at once.
