that's quite a bit of paper you use. Wouldn't it be faster if you drew it first small,scanned,and then just did all your corrections in photoshop? That way you could you skip the whole second part of your process, save ink, and time.

I'm not sure you caught what I meant. In your work process you said you start out with the small thumb, which is cool. Then take that thumb and blow it up larger and print, you then draw over it, scan it in again, and print it out a second time.
I was saying that you can skip that whole second part and just work on your thumb in photoshop. I'm not sure if you have a wacom tablet, but any digital pen set up would do. Just take that thumbnail, enlarge it in photoshop and redraw your lines over it on a second layer. Then you can print that drawing out on the large format in blue scale, then just light box of that drawing. It would save you a lot of time, ink, and paper.
