Description The title isn't anything important or significant or anything. It's just what I think of when I think of James Dean It got cut off because of the limited word space..."in a coat he Borrowed from James Dean." Props to whoever can guess where that's from

It's sad how many people didn't know who James Dean was. It's even more sad that a lot of them thought it was Elvis, some guy from 90210, or the best friend from Spiderman

Anyway, this was a commission. I'm sure the first thing you'll notice about this are the dots on the neck...Well, that just goes to show how stupid I am when it comes to keeping my work clean. I've had a ridiculous amount of schoolwork so far this year, so I have almost no time after school to when I go to sleep to do anything but homework. So a lot of this had been done at school (All of the hair was done between classes)

So, I'm guessing the little black dots appeared sometime at lunch. I didn't even notice them until I blended the graphite in that area. The graphite must have gotten stuck on those spots, and couldn't come off. Well, they look terrible so I deducted the price to $60.

Besides that, I think this turned out awesome I'm getting a bit more adventurous with subject matter, so going back to my boring old portraits proved to be....Well, boring. But I tried to add a bit more to this one, with the hair especially.

I used mostly 2B-8H, but of course some 8B and 6B for the darker tones. On my trusted mat board, like always (At least that never changes).

This was drawn with in the exact same technique as that darned Timeless drawing [link] except this is much less refined since I had a tighter time limit. I haven't done hair like that (used more than one pencil) since, well, Timeless. I think it turned out well. I just wish I had more time to really tighten the shading. (The ear and everything below the chin was done in one night).

You know what? This one looks a little different then the rest of your beautiful works. It looks a lot "bolder" (not sure how to explain that...) It's beautiful, in all (sorry I have no critique. My critique-voice died.)

Oh and a quick question to remind me: how are you selling your work? Are you selling them online or at an art store or anything?

Hah! I knew that actor in Spiderman reminded me of someone, but I never tumbled it was James Dean until now - you can really see it here.
Regarding the dots, with a really sharp craft knife and alot of careful scraping you can usually get rid of them. Not a perfect solution but worth trying.

You know what's ironic about people thinking this was a portrait of the best friend from Spiderman? That actor actually PLAYED James Dean in a film about James 8D So I can understand the mix-up there, but not with Elvis...James Dean and Elvis supported a similar style in looks (when Elvis was just starting out anyway), but they had differences that made them both unique =A= I slap the wrist of anyone who mistook James Dean for Elivs T^T This is fantastic, btw~
