Description I shouldn't have spent so much time on a single PokeShame, neither did I have to make it so elaborate.
But look at that glorious beef!

He just doesn't have much love for chores. Or maybe from a Swampert's point of view everything gets prettier with a little mud on it  Mud is not his problem, but rather everyone else’s.

The next piece of text came to my mind when I was thinking what it would be like to live with a Swampert. It's what an article from a popular Pokemon magazine would look like:
"If you want a Mud Fish as a pet, your place is doomed to get a little muddy. Your backyard is going to have a mud pit - and if there’s a swimming pool, it will turn into a mud pit eventually. You can try to keep the mud out of the house by teaching the Pokemon to rinse itself before going inside. It has to be trained to do it since it’s just a tiny Mudkip, so that it becomes a habit. The best way of training is to do it together. Seriously, put on your swimsuit and go frolic in the mud - it’s good for your skin. You can go without the suit, too - your pet won’t judge After the fun grab a garden hose and rinse yourself and the Pokemon clean. As its water powers grow stronger, it can be trained to wash itself without the hose. In any case, washing the dirt off must be an iron clad rule: a fully evolved Mud Fish won’t be as docile as it used to be."

There are a few fanfics that resemble articles about Pokemon handling and care. This one  is the best, and that  is okay though I find it a little boring.

Adorable. And I love the "care" thing, I know my character would like that.
As in the character in my profile pic, he loves mud. He'd have a pet Mudkip just like that except he'd probably never wash it off. XD He wouldn't at all care about muck all over the house, in fact he'd like it.

Aw man, now I gotta find someone who can draw him playing with a Mudkip!

Sometimes it's not painting but linearting and cel shading, but thanks :3

This is painting though isn't it?

Generally a picture is considered a painting when there's no lineart, but for me it's always mixed thing. I often paint backgrounds, but sometimes they need to be detailed, so I gave this one lines as well. The bushes didn't need lines, though. It's difficult to distinguish between drawing and painting, because there exist vector art which looks clearcut despite having no lines. I think vector is mostly drawing, but some people do it with many semitransparent layers so that the process and the end result resembles painting. For me painting means random strokes and drawing - making more or less controlled shapes.

Hmm I guess. But even Picasso used lines sometimes so, I think no lineart is a bit of a fixed method. I think painting has a degree of freedom whicch should be in terms of painting too, not in just how you do it. You can paint and still have lines.
Vector art is more the method I believe. Though some people do line art with the vector tool but the difference is quite clear usually I think. It's much bolder.
I agree with the last sentence very much. c:

But according to the last sentence, it means that I PAINT LINEART too O_O I make it in Sai and my smoothing is freaking 15, but at the same time it's random because I ctrl+z every line I don't like and make it again until it's smooth and whole. To be precise, I use "backspace" instead of ctrl+z, working on the right side of keyboard, that's handy. I might DRAW lineart when I make separate layers for heads, hands, etc to keep it neat. Making a solid base under the lines and flat-coloring can be considered drawing too. But after that, if I work with a dark base, I go crazy with a brighter color, often on Lumi&Shade layer. If I go with regular-color base, I make more or less neat shadows and then go crazy with light. But my favorite part is the bright finishing strokes. Be it highlights&backlights or bright borders, they often define the final shapes and are made by intuition.

But sometimes, if I do something wrong in painting, I need to correct shapes. Especially if I paint a face. I'm doing it with my current work, a LOT of it, simply because I was too lazy to make a decent base. But it's a good opportunity to experiment with painting.

Lol, bad Swampert!

Very cool and realistic view of some of the everyday scenes that would happen if Poke'mon were real. (Wow that sentence sounded better in my head than it did in the comment. )

Carnie-Vorex In reply to vindurza [2014-07-20 10:20:24 +0000 UTC]

That has been done before me. I've seen a huge variety of Shaming on Tumblr I thought of what would be realistic in this situation: the trainer needed to take a photo quickly, and the quickest way was to write something on a sheet of paper. But they needed to capture the whole mess, and if the paper was placed near the car, the writing just wouldn't be seen on the photo.

Heh, I used the term "mud fish" to indicate the evolution family since I don't really like the idea that the evolutions are separate species, like it's said in Bulbapedia - though it only matters for in-game breeding. In a realistic setting Pokemon would evolve when they reach certain age, though training and experience might speed up that process. So Mudkips wouldn't breed as they do in the game, 'cos they'd be a "baby stage". In VERY realistic settings Pokemon would just grow from one stage into another without evolving, except for the bugs, because metamorphosis. Wow, I just realized why Scyther doesn't evolve from some other form - because mantises don't have a larva stage O_o I also find it surprisingly awesome that some DRAGONS go through metamorphosis, like Salamence. But in-game evolution looks unrealistic anyway, and I wanna think of something other than magic transformation. Though it's fine with species that evolve with the help of some items - their evolution is indeed mysterious!

Pokemon can be like that if their trainer retires from adventures and stays in one place. They get pretty bored I think... There must've been days when Swampy surfed in the river with the Trainer on his back, but now he has to be content with a backyard pool or something. I feel for him, actually  And cars are stupid XD

Mudkip would climb onto your head and dive headfirst into the mud, lol :3 But it's nothing compared to Marshtomp, which jumps around all day splashing the mud everywhere XD I imagine it's curious and energetic like a 10-year-old kid and does a lot of mischief, though mostly unintentionally (unlike Meowths or Sneasels which love to play tricks on others - it must be sooo difficult to make them behave). But as it grows into Swampert it gets lazy and lies in the mud all day.
