Description Sorry for the rant, but I feel like I need to explain why something so small as Kwannon’s hair color is actually a big deal to me.

Hair color may seem like such an insignificant detail to casual fans, but it’s a big deal to me. The hair color makes a big difference when determining which Psylocke you’re creating.

Purple hair makes her Betsy Braddock when she was in Kwannon’s body for the last 30 years. Betsy is back to being a Caucasian woman again and is now Captain Britain. And she’s still sporting her signature purple hair.

The black hair represents the fact that things are finally back to how they should be after almost 30 years. It’s the only change Marvel has allowed to Kwannon’s appearance since they won’t let her have a new costume yet. Kwannon only had purple hair in the 90s when she was Revanche and was in Betsy’s body. But it went back to its natural black when she was resurrected in 2018.

The hair color in that body represents her either being a white woman being forced to be in an Asian body or a woman who was born Japanese. I’m not going to argue with you on whether it should matter to you or not or which look is more appealing. The difference matters to me.
