YAY!!!!! I'm "back" ! Note the marks... I'm "back" but still nursering my daughter so I'm not really efficient. I can only draw when she allows me too... Anyway, coming back home 2 or 3 weeks ago, I had this idea of drawing a flying city... So here it is!Could be something related to transformers... or a city on another planet... or in the future!
I might add a few details soon...

Thank you so much! But see? As for me, I have to practice my characters' poses and "mise-en-scene", and you're really good with it. All of us have our strenght and that's what makes art so different from one to another. ^^

I think the thing I hate absolutely the worst is laying down the flat colors. I have decided I am enjoying coloring more when I do fun shading and lighting. But just getting the color into the proper place in the first place. Do not like. I wish I had a flat color monkey who could do it for me. Really, one could. Flat colors take no talent whatsoever, but ALL of my time.

True, flat color is kinda boring. As for myself, I don't really use flat ones... I normally color like I would do with real pencils, with gradations, mixing colors. What I like to do too is start with the shading. That way, flat colors seem to be less boring in my eyes.

That's certainly a good way to do it. But to be fair, when the flat colors are down, THEN I enjoy the coloring. It's like that gradual climb to the top of the rollercoaster. So much work to get up there, but so fun coming down.

And I agree ^^ And flat colors are even harder to do when you're not coloring your own work... hard to put the right colors on a character if you don't know it enough! lol Like transformers... there's so many versions of each characters!

Seriously! I think I have to look up character's colors every time. Even the ones I've colored several times already. There's just so many different designs, I can't keep them all straight.
