I like this picture for it's color, composition, depth of field and subject. This is art. The main problem is that the flower is a little bit of a large blob that is slightly distracting at the size it is. It's not a large problem though. The details on the bug that are in view are beautiful. I also like the soft focus that adds a peaceful quality to the scene.

Re: the plant - thems the breaks, if thats the angle thats the angle. The trouble with macro of this size (2 cms length of insect) is that there is rarely any room to work.. that and the fact it had selttled for about 30 seconds. For me the world of macro photography in the wild is all about the insect and the detail that can be captured - expecially the eyes, it is nigh on impossible to worry about the rest of the pic when the soul focus is the insect.

Yes, I know about that. Macro is tough for many of those reasons, but it's beautiful and fun. Still, a picture is altered by those little things, whether we have control of them or not.

Its old and I've dropped it way to many times. I have to keep the area where the batteries are taped up, or it opens and it turns off..more than it already turns off. And latly been having trouble with it because I get a "105 error" because the opitcal zoom lense gets jammed. But I'm not gonna complain its better than nothing and its taken a good beating and is surving.
