Description
This is a speculative rendering I did of the upcoming 2013 Porsche (Type 981) Cayman S. The rendering is based on an image of the 987, but is changed drastically. I drew heavy inspiration from the 918 Spyder, and much from the spyshots of the 2013 Cayman. The proportions are completely different. The rear shoulders are wider, and flatter. The car is wider overall, and has a shorter roof. The air vent on the side is larger, and now has a concave crease leading to its entrance. The new front wings are now 918 style. The headlights also are similar to the 918 Spyder's. The front bumper also bears strong resemblance to the 918's. Among these changes are also many other minor changes.

The 981 Cayman will replace the current 987 in mid to late 2012. The base model is expected to arrive with 2.9l 270hp flat 6, while the S model will receive a 3.4l 330hp flat 6. Both engines will be derived from the current DFI engine in the Cayman models. There are also rumors that a new turbocharged flat 4 could enter the engine lineup.
