Description
This is my version of a shaman orc for the Dungeons and Dragons art test. His design is based on the concept, but I changed some small parts to achieve a more powerful look. I gotta say that I really like this. It fits my mental image of an orc shaman so well.
A lot of the pictures you find on the same subject seem either a little over or underdone. Either covered with too many details and piled with unnecessary and impractical accessories, or just another orc wearing little more than a dirty loincloth and waving a big stick. This has a nice balance. The outfit/armor has enough detail to make the viewer sit up and pay attention, but not enough to distract. Plus I feel that the way the armor and the clothes are designed adds to the character. Though they're simple they appear well crafted, not showing any ragged edges or such, which makes him look more dignified than your average grunt. Bottom line is, this guy looks like he means business and also knows how to get said business done.
