Description
Tools: Pencil for sketching/lineart, PS CS5 for coloring.Time: ~20 hours.
Finally finished the cover of my upcoming art book, "Etchings"!
The digital coloring process took me a long time because of that darn ctrl+z letting my OCD take over and re-do everything again and again. It's really both a blessing and a curse OTL;;
I tried to achieve a slightly painted effect in certain areas and go beyond just cell shading, but it was pretty difficult on PS. This was also my first time trying to draw a real tree, and my god it was hard. But overall, I learned a lot during the process of this drawing ;u;

The idea here is really cool. I love how you painted someone painting something!!! And the fact that this person is painting her surroundins. I think that this can/has a very symbolic meaning. Maybe that you can control where you are in life? The colors are very well chosen as they all work well together. Very nice detailing as well. I can't see anything wrong with this at all! Not that I'm trying anyway, I really love this. My favorite part would probably be the girl. She seems to be painting with a certain innocence... even though I cannot see the facial expression. I like that. In the end, I would say you did a very amazing job with this.

I love how you added the birds in there, it almost reminds me of the freedom of life. I also love how the painting of the girl painting isn't quite finished in her perspective showing that there is still more to be done within the whole piece. The pose the girl is in is done well to showing that she is a free hand worker and creative, you can tell her personality by the way she is posed in the piece. Once again this is magnificent! This picture is very simple, yet leaves a big impact. The colors are so warm and inviting, the line work is fantastic and clean, and the idea is very cute and bubbly. I can't seem to find the exact words (I'm no judge or anything) to describe the feeling I get when I gaze unto this beautiful piece...but if I had to describe it... I feel.... like the child I used to be, wanting to climb a tree and run barefoot through a meadow, carve my name in a tree and hand lanterns filled with fireflies; The best feelings I think anyone can evoke. I love how the tree is unfinishd, letting you know that she painted it all. The colors are so bright and colorful and it actully makes me feel warm. The paint, unlike other drawings i have seen that have paint inculded, looks like real paint. The shading is just right in this and by this drawing and all of your others, i can tell that you are going to go pretty far into your work. i can't wait to see other things from you, so don't stop drawing things like this, because this is just breath taking and very beautiful.

It's amazing to see some people are always fresh. This gives me a sense that we can always restart because our lives are just sketches. It gives me peace of mind and much hopes at that certain time in a day when your ready to just throw your life away and you realize from seeing this, I can start over.
I don't always see this kind of thing on many of the pictures I look at, it's new. I have a variety of favorites, but this one has a type of heart, unlike many others. This gives me hope. Thank you!

First, your idea is very original. I love the way you interpret the girl painting her surroundings. It is almost fantasy like where it looks like she's creating her own world. Second, the technique. The technique is awesome! The body is in proportion and the tree is very realistic. This makes the drawing very realistic, and allows artists and other viewers relate to the piece.

I love the concept! Something about her shoulder blades bothers me like the lines are too bold or something and I wished her hair was going down her back instead but it is really nice. The concept is just amazing, I love that. She's literally creating the world around her.
