I don't know much about the band, but the word I'm talking about has NOTHING to do with that band. Arc-en-ciel is a very common French word. Initially it literally meant arch in the sky, because the rainbow we see in real life is arch-shaped and formed by rain and sunlight. Nowadays, that French word is used for various uses of rainbow and the spectrum of course.
