Description Well, it was quite a game! However after Cleveland was up 3-1 in the series and seemed as though they'd take it, I was commissioned by The New York Times to do an illustration with a Cubs loss. The idea was to take Norman Rockwell's 1948 Saturday Evening Post cover 'The Dugout' and update it with current Chicago players and uniforms etc. It was a lot to paint in the time I had (even threw big celebrity Indians fans Tom Hanks and LeBron James in the crowd) But alas it was not to be and will not be published. Congrats to Chicago... thanks a lot!Β

As an Indians fan, I reluctantly admire this, but you'd better watch out...come next year...IT'S TRIBE TIME!

As a lifelong Cubs fan, I appreciate you posting this. It's a wonderful piece of art and I would love to have it hanging in my house. It is a shame that it wasn't published, it's amazing!

I am not a necessarily fan of baseball, but I love the Rockwell-style artwork you employed and the atmosphere of loss drifting over the team makes that disappointment easy to see, which is a plus. Even if the Cleveland Indians did not win -- I would assume that at least you were paid by the Times -- the artwork is phenomenal.

...and I thought I recognized Tom Hanks sitting in the audience.

Amazing job. Rockwell's art is a great style and you captured it wonderfully (as a Cubs fan though, kinda glade it did not go this way. Sorry) plus, in some alternate universe, this is probably on display. Once again, great job.

Really well done. Glad it's only a fantasy, though.

Sorry for your disappointment; at least you were paid.
