Description Detail of a new carving. The piece is carved from a block of red oak end grain oriented front. Because of the difficulties of carving wood into the end grain this work is largely made with power tools. This work was done as a fill in kind of job, it will be set aside to be finished another day.

Creation is afoot! I can see how you are having to work against the grain. That make for a challenging cut or gouge.
