Description
This is one of the monarch butterflies we raised from caterpillars awhile back, perched on a brown eyed susan flower (Rudbeckia hirta) from our garden. We do it every year if possible. They're so sweet and the way they migrate between Mexico and Canada is just amazing. ^ . ^I love this shot because you can just make out the butterfly's proboscis. Unfortunately, he/she didn't stay too long but I was able to a few shots in while he/she was eating.
