I hope I didn't offend anyone by drawing this....This pic is actually inspired by a discussion on one of the message board I visit, it was about what Roy's occupation would be on the "other side of the door" (go and watch the last few episodes of the anime if you don't know what I'm talking about). A few has suggested Nazi officer (actually I'm not too keen on this, I prefer seeing him selling matches on the street
) and hence this pic.....I have to do a little bit of research on the uniform and I must say, they had some very nice stuff.....

Actually, that does make sense. I mean, Mustang's part of the military in Amestris, and it's the government, as the Nazi Party was with Germany. And since Hughes was in the Party, I was thinking during Conqueror of Shamballa: why wasn't Mustang there? WHY???Β
Then again, if Mustang's real world counterpart WAS there, Ed would be insulting his butt off at him.Β

Well he does want to be the next Fuhrer. In Germany, which is the "other side's" Almestris, the only way to get to that occupation would be to be an officer. Anyone who takes offense by this doesn't understand that it's fictional and you aren't portraying this to glorify the Nazi party, just show what his job would be.

Anyhow. I could honestly see Roy as a Nazi, but I don't know...would he be against it morally? And don't swastikas represent the sun, strength, and good luck? I think the symbol fits, but not the meaning Hitler gave it.

as I said Hugo BOSS did a great job designing the nazi uniform. It is still the most stlylish one in the world.
I do not support nazis, I absolutley understand WWII, and I don't really have any political views either. (I'm a hungarian minority who lives in Romania)

While the idea of a Nazi Roy makes sense, doesn't he look a bit too Asian to be allowed in that uniform?
I see Roy as a member of the Japanese Military growing disillusioned with it. Plus, that'd explain why Roy never showed up on earth in Conquerer of Shambala; his Earth-version was in Japan. Possibly doing war crimes involving burning people alive.

but I would never expect Roy to be in the SS/SA/NSDAP/WHATEVER, 'cause you see in the Manga(talking to Hughes in Ishbar) that he is much too intelligent to just fulfill such orders- okay, in Ishbar he does what the Military wants him to, but afterwards it's not murdering anymore and he knows that it wasn't right and wants to change Amestris into a democracy(!).
Further I also slammed my head at the desk several times when I watched the movie, because I don't get why Hughes was in Munich?!?! His name is SO english!!! That's why I would rather Γmagine Roy to be a british officer... If he had shown up like this in the movie, I'd have been very disappointed -.-
