Description I think I already have a hedgie chibi in my gallery, but I like this set of pics a little more I am allowed to love one of my own chibis, aren't I? I just love his little quilly spinies.

And Burrito's all, "Hwah? This is NOT cuter than me."

Hedgie is made of polymer clay, baked and painted.

Burrito is made of blood and guts and bones and stuff, as far as I know. I haven't cracked 'er open to make sure.

Uhhh... are you telling me I can't make hedgehogs because you made them first?

SnakeBlue In reply to CatharsisJB [2007-02-23 07:22:54 +0000 UTC]

sorry, I was in a bad mood and I guess I was feeling a bit posesive of them. one should realy not comment on things when one feels that way. I feel a bit silly for having typed that now. I'd say I feel very now.

I cant keep you from making anything you want and now that I'm a little more clear headed I can definetly say I'm not going to try and stop you making anything you want, but I have clay and walnut shells so dont be surprised if you spot something sleeping in a shell on my account. (I have one literaly waiting in the wings, just as soon as I can eat nuts again)

Clay figurines in walnut shells isn't exactly a new thing, either. For you to imply "Well you did this, I'm gonna do it back at you" comes off as sort of petty, to be honest, but it's not something I can't live with...

...because, for you to have gotten upset in any way, shape, or form about something like hedgehogs is a bit mystifying, seeing as you posted yours on 12/5/06, but I posted my first one here on 5/18/06: [link] for proof. A good half a year before you did.

Please keep in mind that so much in the art/craft world has already been done that you are better off doing a TON of research before you accuse someone of "copying your idea." Chances are, your oh-so-unique idea has been done and done and done.

By the way, I'm not upset in the least that you "copied my idea." Have fun with your clay, and watch where you point your finger!

I should just quit commenting on things, I keep puting my feet in my mouth when I try. and just so anyone curious knows, I dont know what I was thinking as I was very ill and being that sick can make you do very stupid things.

"you posted yours on 12/5/06, but I posted my first one here on 5/18/06"

My train of thought:
But wait! That means you posted yours later, JB!
OMG! YOU ARE AN ART THEIF! YOU POSTED YOURS IN... the 18th month...?
OH right, US date system. I always forget about that. ^.-.^'

Sorry, I'm dumb, nevermind. I auto-skipped the second half of your comment because I thought it was a signature. 9__9 Iiiii'm a dope.

You know I did exactly the same thing! I couldn't figure out what he was on about or why he had such a complex looking signature.

Oh thank goodness. I don't feel THAT stupid now. Heh.

I actually didn't read it until I read your comment and realized it wasn't his sig.

Yah? I'm not sure why you're quoting that. Did I make a mistake?

Chewnbaby In reply to CatharsisJB [2007-02-23 17:07:39 +0000 UTC]

To translate, the UK system would read 5/12/06 and 18/5/06 (day, month, year). We often get mixed up that the first number is the month in the US system.

I have to say, I can't see that there can't possibly be that many undiscovered ways to make clay hedgehogs left, so I'm in the non-art-thief camp here...

Yeah, as I just commented above, I completely missed the second part of his comment as I automatically tuned it out as "signature file." Woops.

In some places, the day is shown first, followed by the month and then the year. Yours could be interpreted as the fifth day of the eighteenth month, and 12/05 could be the twelth day of May. I was always confused with dates in the military, because that's the way we did it on military papers, but on any civilian papers it was the opposite, like how you typed it.

CatharsisJB In reply to Beckwolf28 [2007-02-23 17:05:21 +0000 UTC]

Oh duhhhhh, I'm dumb. I skipped the last half of his comment because my brain auto-parsed it as a signature. Sorry!

Beckwolf28 In reply to CatharsisJB [2007-02-26 13:49:22 +0000 UTC]

Done that a few times meself. I think once I commented on a person's signature thinking it was part of the comment.
