I finally finished :3
I already had this idea for a while but i really didn't feel like drawing with my tablet. BUT i kicked myself under de butt and forced myself to try it and what do you know! It turned out pretty good
I took the colours from a picture i took a while back and then made the sky with that colour pallet.
Story
“Have you hear Raven? You’re next competition is going to be in an arena filled with grass and snow!” said Caithlyn with a lot of enthusiasm. Raven didn’t understand her. She was actually quiet annoyed that she was talked to in the first place since she liked the silence when she was being brushed.
“You’re gonna love it so much. I’m sure that you will almost forget your training when you see it for the first time.” Caithlyn lifted Ravens left leg to clean the hoof. “At least your hooves are easier to clean then that winter fur” Caithlyn said. Raven was annoyed and wanted her hoof back. She was done with all the talking. She started moving her hoof in an attempt to get it free. “Almost” said Caith softly while holding the hoof firm. Raven relaxed her hoof and let Caithlyn clean the last areas. After Raven was completely cleaned she got a blanket thrown over her and was ready to be loaded in to the trailer.
The first day on the ranch was a good day. Everyone was greeting each other and sharing tips and stories about their horses. Raven had rest in the stable after we arrived, but as soon as the morning came she was put in the meadow to get some movement and stress release.
A few days on the ranch have past and the day of the competition finally arrived. Caithlyn was a bit nervous since Raven hasn’t really co-operated with the training the last days. She was distracted by all the other horses and was annoyed that she didn’t get the amount of potato chips she usually got. Most of the time she would devour 4 or 5 bags in a week. But because Caithlyn got hungry on her way to the competition she was left with only 3 bags.
Shivering she petted Raven and said “I hope you at least remember some of the routine we have trained for.” Raven was just standing half asleep at the arena side. It was too early for Raven to give a proper ‘Raven’ reaction. One of the staff member came walking toward Caithlyn and said that after the horse in the arena was finished, they could walk right in to start their routine. “Thank you” Caithyn said kindly as she looked at Raven, who was still half asleep.
The music stopped and it was time. Caithlyn walked in the arena and put Raven on her starting point. She was already aware that Raven was asleep. So before walking away she crunched a bag of chips. Ravens ears shot right up and were searching where it came from. Caithlyn quietly walked away and gave the sing that the music could start.
Raven forgot a few things. The beginning of the routine she walked perfect. She remembered the amount of circles she had to walk around the tree, the little tricks she had to preform and where to stand for the second part. Then the lack of training was shown. She was supposed to run close to the side and stop in front of the judges. Instead of that she walked another circle around the tree before ending before the judges. Luckily she remember to bow for them and quickly after that trot to the middle of arena, back to the starting point, and prance. Then the music stopped. Raven got a bit applause and waited for Caithlyn to pick her up. Raven already saw the bright bag in Caitlhyn’s hand and quickly walked towards her. Instead of receiving a pet on the head she got a full bag of potato. She couldn’t think of any better way to congratulate Raven with her risky performance.
