Had to port them in myself, .obj files can't be opened in MMD raw.

I really have no knowledge when it comes to things like this, but I wonder if it could be possible to bring these guys into Garry's Mod. Then you could definitely go crazy with them on there.

Oh it is! I found a forum thread regarding exporting MMD models into a Garry's Mod format. The problem is I don't have the luxury of 3DS Max to use some of the plugins.

I know however RatchetMario 's pretty good at G-mod related stuff, and she's taken an interest in the models herself 8v.

Great, now that just makes me want to learn how to use Gmod/MMD even more. I know when I see some of your stuff with them I'll be like, k we're learning how to do this now (even though it would take me God knows how long to actually make quality stuff). And I would literally kill to see an Alister version of Do-Dai from IdolMaster. Would you maybe take that into consideration if you're willing and or able to do it?

Oh god, that's so awesome! It'd be so cool to see completely canon R&C character models in MMD! I can't wait to see them in action. I bet the rigging is gonna be a bit tough though!

The rigging won't be too hard!! I'm so used to MMD's 3D format I kinda have it burned into my memory. 

Now, making expressions that aren't stoic and dead is the real challenge.

That's a good point, their base expressions are pretty horrible especially considering how expressive they were in the game. Though Ratchet definitely looks like he's seen some things... o.o

If it helps at all, I was toying with the models a bit in Blender and it seems to work wonders to move Ratchet's lower eyelids up a bit regardless of expression. Something about the way they hang open by default is a little jarring.
Alister on the other hand is a completely different story. He just looks SO bored no matter what you do. x_x

If you don't mind me saying, while Alister's shoulder pads do look kind of cool like that, it might be best to rig them to the shoulder bones instead of the upper arm bones. I don't think they're really supposed to move that way...

No kidding, Ratchet looks like he just discovered all the problems in the universe, meanwhile Alister's got this face like, 'The Great Clock wasn't all that great.'


And I figured since I saw a wad of vertices tucked underneath his eye! That can easily fix his stare no problem.


And it's alright! Demonboy made the same suggestion and I agree with you. I'll have to re-tweak his bones once I'm done though since these particular bones like to break once I mess with them.

You did a great job rigging azimuth, though I would suggest having his shoulder pads rigged to their own bone, or at least less so to the shoulders.

I may do that yeah! It'd look a lot more pleasing to the eye rather than have it slouch with his arms :lc

I suppose the same should be done for Ratchet since he has similar shoulder pads.
