This is north Chicago. I digitized the image so it looks like it was shot in the early 30's, even though this is modern day chicago.Shot with a Nikon D40 with ND filter.

Wow, that view is just incredible! I've never seen Chicago: it looks absolutely huge. It reminds me of those intricate drawings or repeatedly photoshopped pictures that go on forever.
I like the filter too, though it doesn't remind me very much of the 1930s so much as a filter to sharpen the buildings' edges...
In any case, well done!

Chicago is a rather large city.. Yet it's got a small-town feel to it. Very odd! But I love it.
