Description reΒ·dux (r-dks)
adj.
Brought back; returned. Used post positively.

Well I opened my presents today and was over joyed to see a 36 set of copic-sketch markers, the professionals choice in the marker world. I thought that Rainshadow deserved to be the first character I should draw, she deserves it.

Most of you may remember my picture Come What May [link] so think of this as a re do, updated version of that picture (That's what I was going for)

Before I go on writing the meaning of Rainshadow again please realize that this is my baby, do not comment harsh or say "OMGZ STARS AND LONG TAIL. I thought u hated those!gfhgjhj So un originalz". Rainshadow to me is original because I haven't found hardly any other artist who has put so much work into their creation. Rain has been with me for a looonnngggg time and she has a whole developed story that will some day become a novel.

Breed/species
+Celestial Spirit
Not a lot of people really know what a Celestial Wolfen, or Celestial Spirit is. A Celestial Spirit is something that I made up but at the same time believe it to some what be true. Celestial Spirits are animal like angels that rule the stars and planets and celestial landscape. Each spirit is given a pair of wings (The wings of Ikea Seki) and a star to guardian over once they finish their training (they are trained from birth) Rainshadow is a Celestial Spirit (in her case a wolf hence the title Celestial Wolfen). I've always been fascinated and awed by space and astronomy, even when I was but a toddler I'd go out with my dad and star gaze. My whole life I've been studying and researching astronomy and thus the Celestial Spirits were created.

+Breed
Rainshadow is NOT a pure wolf what so ever. On Earth (in her earthly form, not shown above) she is a full wolf but in her true form (the one everyone knows) she is a mix of a gray wolf, cross fox, maned wolf, and cheetah.

+Wolf
I made Rainshadow mostly resemble a wolf due to the fact that the wolf is my spiritual guide. Wolves are mysterious and wise animals, they only attack if given a valid reason otherwise they stay well out of the way, this is how I am.

+Cheetah
Cheetahs are known for their lithe bodies and amazing speed, Rainshadow carries both these traits of the Cheetah. Rainshadow, like me is also a fast thinker, and can come back with just about anything off the top of her head.

+Fox
Foxes are cunning, secretive, and seductive. These three signified her darker, sinister side. Foxes by nature are beautiful creatures but once you approach they can turn feral and wild, they are not nice animals in general and I believe that everyone has an attractive part of them that draws others near, but once two close everyone can snap and show their darker side.

Color
+Silver
Why does Rainshadow have silver fur? because for me silver is a beautiful but shunned color. Most people think of silver as a prettied up version of gray. Sure silver objects are shiny and pretty but no one really stops and stares at a silver appliance and says "it's beautiful, what a nice color." Rainshadow is a lot like that, she is loved but no one thinks anything special about her.

+Purple(summer) Blue (winter)
Purple and blue are both very important colors to me, they are serene calming colors that often set people back. The reason for the seasonal change is to symbolize how even though the seasons come and go, the trees die then grow those soothing colors will always be there somewhere.

+Black
There is a few reasons why I chose black, first off is that it accents every color nicely. It is a proven fact that if you have a little bit of black in everything it makes the colors and whatever your thing may be stand out more. I also chose black because there is darkness in all of us, it goes along with the ying yang thing, evil in good, good in evil.

Muzzle marking
his is probably Rainshadow's most important valuable marking. Her muzzle marking has been on her since the begining and everyone just thinks it's a stripe WELL IT'S NOT. The muzzle marking is actually called the Marking of Exile. Rainshadow's mother Nova is a Celestial Wolfen too but in the Celestial Haven only the king and Queen are allowed to have babies. Nova met a Celestial Wolf named Kanga and fell in love, she ended up getting pregnant and thus was thrown down to earth (shooting stars). Nova was granted the Marking of Exile because she was exiled and thus Rainshadow was born with it to. I have often considered getting rid of this marking but I never have the heart to. Rainshadow is an angel and she is beautiful and graceful but the marking reminds everyone that no one is perfect and there is hope for everyone.

Long tail
The long tail Everyone always forgets that Rainshadow has a long fluffy tail. Her tail is meant to represent that of a comet's tail. Why? Because when you look at a comet the first thing you see is the beautiful tail as it zips through the sky. All Celestial Spirits posses the trait of long tails because in my mind comets are Celestial Spirits whom fly through the sky.

Wings
Rainshadow's wings are very symbolic to me. They represent who she really is to me and that is my little heavenly angel muse <3. She's always there floating above my head, she's like the incarnation of my subconscious. Wings give one freedom to go wherever they want without limits or boundaries, that is how Rainshadow has flown through my mind and out onto paper.

Thank you to all who took time for me and read this, I thank you all so much it really means a lot.

--------------------------------------

Rainshadow and art is mine no matter if you steal her or not, both you and I know that then she just becomes another lifeless character, the real Rainshadow will always be right here.

I like the blue better than the purple, in my opinion. I also believe that everyone has darkness inside. I also believe that light cannot exist without darkness, because darkness is half of everything. I also have good music you can introduce the Celestia Haven with, here's the link:

Lastly, I'm going to put my fursona on DA. Everyone in his pack likes him, he is actually the beta of the pack. Now, he's urban. Every full moon, he goes angelic. Every new moon, he goes demonic. Your art style is one I'm impressed with. Good job on all your drawings, and to future ones, good luck.

Also, my friend has a fursona that when the full moon strikes, her Nobody shaped necklace glows the color in the mood she's in E.G.- Happy-white-light; Rage-black-darkness; etc.

Ah, this is really beautiful <33 Congrats on getting Copics, I just got a 40-something package of Prismacolors and I can't wait to use them. As last time in Come What May I think it is beautiful thing that you have poured your heart into Rainshadow. Also, I really like the white highlights with the prisma pencil.

Hmm, I've seen a lot of people use microns for outlining. Can you get them at a normal art store, do you have to order them over the internet, and is there a brand that's really good that you know about? I got a fountain pen to outline, but sometimes it smudges. xO

Microns are the outlining pen of choice for artists now a days, you can get them anywhere that sells art supplies, I usually just run down to Michael's (the store) and pic some up.

I put all my work and thought into my characters, they have fancy meanings and backgrounds and life stories and aspirations. But my fursona is just me, so I feel she doesn't need any more introduction than I do. c:

And I'm very jealous of your copics. VERY.
