Argos Panoptes was a hundred-eyed giant in greek mythology and Hera's servant. Hera used his eyes to decorate her peacock's feathers to thank him for his loyalty.⁠⠀

Hera’s husband, Zeus, lusted after a mortal woman named Lo. Zeus turned Lo into a cow in order to hide her from his wife, but she was not deceived and demanded the cow as a gift. She then appointed Argos Panoptes as its guard, keeping her chained to the sacred olive tree. Zeus sent Hermes to distract and slay Argus, Zeus freed Io... Hera sent a gadfly to sting Io continuously, causing her to wander the world without rest.
