Well, actually I changed that. I just haven't updated the description yet. As for the sergery, it's more exploratiry surgery to see what kind of damage has really been done to his body because of the disease.

They don't have X-rays, MRI's or CT scanners in Sonic's world?

They do, but the data about IPI has been lost for millions of years and hasn't been studied very well. So it's best to open somebody who does have IPI up and take a look at their insides with their own eyes.
