Alright, I've had a fantastic splendiferous brainstorm.

In DC comics, Nightwing fans are divided on who he should end up with, Starfire or Oracle. So what I have done is COMBINE THE TWO.

The plan is elegant in its simplicity: during his youth, Jim Gordon has a wacky Tenchi Muyo adventure and winds up married to a scantily-clad alien warrior. She leaves for Action Space again, but because Action Space is dangerous, she leaves their daughter with him! Little half-alien Gordon wants to fight crime, but since it looks bad for the daughter of the police commissioner to fly around blasting people with her death ray hands, she focuses instead on cyberspace, giving other superheroes a helpful little nudge in the right direction. And then when nobody's looking she flies around blasting people with her death ray hands. This concept has the added bonus of pissing Batman off. He'll be pitching a hissyfit to Superman, all telling him "I don't allow metahumans in my town! They're disruptive and undisciplined and unprofessional--" and then the commissioner's daughter will go flying by, and she'll wave to Superman, and Superman will wave back, and Batman will sulk quietly and then try to change the subject.

Last night at two AM this sounded like a GREAT idea.
