Does the cat have a name? If not, I vote for Balthazar or Melchior (a friend of mine has a cat called Caspar, which is the name of one of the three Magi of Neon Genesis Evangelion fame. The names I sugested are the names of the other two Magi).

damn!!! thats just swell. seriously i LOVE it. everything youve done is so professional. i just love the vibrant feeling in your work. and the mood you display is awesome. your coloring is SPECTACULAR! the facial expressions are so defining. and really convey a the comfort of a mother getting her daughter ready for her first day of school, or a dance or something... damnit dude this picture actually tells a story! thats awesome. the colors are phenominal, the purples and soft hues really convey the mood so much more, the cat is awesome! its obvious you have a full understanding of perspective and anatomy!
i love the fact that you included a background and didnt just draw the characters. as so many artist do. i cant tell you how many times artist just draw a picture and absolutely NO enviornment for their characters. those pics always appear so bland, just cause the artist doesnt take the time or effort.. or even knows how to add that integral part of a pic. the p.o.v. you used as well as all the detail in the room is what really makes this pic shine! i love the taped picture on the dresser. the bed pillow, and the carpet most of all.
i would like to point out though. that the framed picture in the upper right hand corner of the room appears to be a little out of perspective. its nothing that is glaringly obvious.. the only reason i even noticed it is cause i was staring at how awesome the pic is for the past 10 mins.
