All this is is the reeeally basic flat photoshop brush (the first one on the list) and I did flat shadows, like cel shading style... then took the soft brush and put places @___@; then highlight with whatever I feel like... haha. The most important is the first part with flat shadow though : ]] For this style of hair *_*;; I like yours, waaaay more realistic and shiny and soft looking < 333

I use the flat ones the same way I'd use a non-blending marker, I guess. : ] Like... hrm... if I had one chunk of hair, I would look for a second to think where the shadow would lay, then I make an outline of the shadow (with the colour I'm using for the shadow) then just fill it in : D
So I just draw the lines of the shadows then colour them in. Sometimes it can be really hard to figure out an area @_@ if I just can't get it after several tries I save it for the soft brush. I can show you sometime though it's really simple xD the technique's not complicated, it's just getting used to planning the shadows out, you have to be really definite.
