Is that Mary's hand? Also, I can definitely see a crossover of Ib and Undertale. Oh man, Asriel is going be terrified of the manic painting, and also feeling sympathy since he can relate to her. Both not feeling exactly complete.

I would assume a LIVING painting would have some form of soul, seeing as how it's possible for Mary to leave the painting world and live as a human at all, and she obviously is capable of feeling.
Considering she was able to pull two living people through a painting into her world through sheer force of will, I'd say Mary probably has a very strong soul at that.Β
But IDK I'm just making things up because I really REALLY wish I could save Asriel.

Well, I suppose so. But, wouldn't that mean in some form killing her? She wouldn't feel like everyone else after she becomes a flower... It might be a bit disappointing to her. She might just feel neutral about leaving after...

Well I thought since she would probably have a very strong soul, it would be strong enough to allow Asriel to come back as a goatkid rather than a flower. And then they could like...share the body, and take turns to take control of it? Idk I'm making this up as I go along.
She'd have to get used to having a male body that she only controls half the time, but at least she wouldn't be stuck inΒ the world of Guertena with no one to talk to. And let's be honest, Asriel would just be happy not to be a flower any more.
