I present to you: a late picture of this year's jack-o-lantern carving by yours truly.

To begin with, this pattern does not belong to me. I did not have time to make my own pattern this year, like I usually do, so I resorted to pulling an image off the internet at the last second. However, about 20 minutes into carving, I realized that there had been a terrible error in the pattern: the mouth was not connected to any other part of the pumpkin and therefore fell right out as I carved it. Of course I realized my mistake just as I finished cutting. Duh.
So his mouth looks rather messed up...I had to stick it back in there with toothpicks, but it still doesn't look right. His mouth looks closed rather than open.
I'm still very happy with this one, though. It was enjoyable for a rush job.
Several young trick-or-treaters loved it. I can see why; NOBODY in our area carves jack-o-lanterns anymore. The only reason my family had any was because I personally made sure we bought some. Jack-o-lantern carving is my favourite part of Halloween.
