Description So I saw this beautiful photo by [link] and I wanted to see if I could replicate it. Took about 1.5-2 hours in painter X. It was pretty good practice I think. I'm aware I could have put more detail into it and made it more accurate to the original but the painting was mostly as an exercise for practice, rather than to just copy a photo

The process I used was to do a grayscale painting with acrylics first, and then using a second layer set as "colorize" at 50% opacity or so to airbrush the color tones in. It was a pretty fun painting to do though the low contrast in some parts of the reference photo made it a little tricky to calculate values and such.

As someone who knows the girl in the picture IRL, I can attest - this is actually pretty cool-looking (although I think you drew the lips a smidge fuller than they actually are)

Possible. It's an old painting and the original photo I used as a reference isn't on DA anymore so I can't compare but anyway. Thanks for the comment

As much as this makes no sense, the desaturated tones of this really caught my eye. Nice work.
