Description As much as I love fire-related stuff, I can't help but think that I overuse it too much because of how easy I find it to work with...but maybe that's fine; if it like working with it that much, perhaps forcing myself to stay away from it isn't something I should worry about that much either...

Also I think I need to make some new fire palettes in that case...annnnyway, I hope you all enjoy it

This is.... amazing. I mean,  .

How do equations on a keyboard turn into this? (Sorry if this is a silly question.)

ChaosFissure In reply to locosquirrel [2014-04-16 05:17:46 +0000 UTC]

In this case, I'm manipulating mathematical transformations on an abstract level that doesn't require that I work directly with the equations themselves.  The equations are represented by "variations," which are precompiled code, and none of the code is something I see unless I want to dig into the source code for some reason.

I have a massive compilation of tutorials and resources at the bottom left of my page that would help you get started using the software I'm using; I have written a few tutorials myself (which have their own section on that list) that would likely be of the most help, however I don't have any step-by-step ways to how I go about creating things.

Thank you very much! I am getting a Wacom tablet in a few months time, and i'm hoping i can start of from there.

Oh, this is fractal artwork -- not digitally painted artwork in the conventional sense -- there isn't any tablet required to make this type of artwork, though that doesn't mean it's necessarily easier to do so...

For the most part, it probably takes me anywhere from two to six days to make something.  It's not necessarily that it takes ages, but sometimes things that you try working with happen to do nice things quickly, sometimes they take a while to whip into shape, and sometimes they take a really long while and still don't do anything!

I worry about the same thing too. And fire-related abilities, characters, etc. have become sort of cliche, but what you done here is fabulous. If your good then just out-light the others!

Haha, that's true enough, fighting fire with fire I suppose XD  Some day I'll try my hand at drawing characters too XD

Use your ability to draw for your likes rather than what is harder for you. You will excel in what you like and be average one whats hard.

ChaosFissure In reply to ImaginationStudio [2014-04-13 00:09:19 +0000 UTC]

I always feel a need to challenge myself and not become complacent in what I am able to accomplish.  Having said that, I've done less stylistic experimentation recently than I would like to have done, but I am enjoying what I'm working on now perhaps moreso than ever.

I work on creating artwork that I enjoy making.  Much of what I enjoy doing now is a product of doing 'hard' things in the past.  Wanting to do different things or challenging myself doesn't prevent me from pursuing things that I enjoy, or learning more tricks along the way ;D

Thank you very much for the comment

Finding balance between sharpness and blur is something I've been working with for a while now; although I feel there's still a lot to be desired, I think that I'm getting better at using it

Eventually I'll set up a website to sell prints.  At the moment though, it's more of a priority for me to find a job and finish school than to worry about prints...

Awesome work and sorry if I sound rude not trying to be. But I can kinda see a yellow jacket and/or Phoenix in there and that makes it even more wicked

ChaosFissure In reply to nolansmth [2014-04-12 00:25:19 +0000 UTC]

I enjoy hearing what people see in the images I create.  One of the reasons I make artwork is to let my mind wander inside of a fantastic space -- and I have absolutely no issues with people interpreting my artwork in ways that may differ from my own, especially if it provides a similar experience

Is it just my mind imagining its in the shape of a Phoenix or is that how it actually is?
This looks absolutely amazing by the way!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChaosFissure In reply to DarknessInferno15 [2014-04-11 23:22:32 +0000 UTC]

The correct answer to your question is "yes."

Technically, "Angel of Fire" was more the concept I myself envisioned, though a phoenix is very easy to pull out given that the "wings" are not symmetrical. However, I'm under the impression that anything that someone pulls out of it is valid, as I prefer to let people's minds wander when making abstracts than making stuff that enforces rigid interpretation of concepts...

DarknessInferno15 In reply to ChaosFissure [2014-04-12 00:01:33 +0000 UTC]

Ah, ok. Thanks for explaining. I was just wondering because I saw everyone in the comments guessing what it is/saying what it looks like but I never read anything that said what it actually was.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChaosFissure In reply to DarknessInferno15 [2014-04-12 00:03:17 +0000 UTC]

Generally, the extent that I like to explain my viewpoint is limited to the title, and sometimes the comments if I feel some extra material is necessary.  I don't mind explaining my views behind what I personally interpret when asked, but I don't want to limit people's imaginations when viewing it either, as I also enjoy hearing what other people see
