This is so cool, like lettering for a language out of a fantasy novel. Makes me want to try my hand at writing a language

That's why I'm writing something like this, I want to construct symbols that I could repurpose into some type of language in a game or something later on XD

how does this work because i'm really confused. can you explain this too me? please?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ChaosFissure In reply to mommy247 [2015-08-13 19:00:09 +0000 UTC]
There are two parts to this.
There is a grid of coordinates, representing the square blocks you see. These blocks are spaced apart a certain number of pixels, which makes them disconnected from each other.
The second part is all RNG. I'm using a seeded RNG to determine if any given block should be visible or invisible, as well as how it should connect to the blocks surrounding it on the grid.

It's pretty much just breaking up into grids of pixels, then randomizing probabilities for how frequently it tries to go left, right, and down...at least that's what I did!

Perhaps. I may want to have more "aesthetic" results that differ more significantly for a font.

There's no denying Synth's use to make cool buildings and geometry - I've used it before for a 3D render, and you've done many cool things with it as well.
That's the cool thing about programming in my opinion, there are many ways things can be done..and it does involve creativity to do things well, or in an interesting way!
