Description These are my re-painted noise marines.

Here is the originals: [link]

Before, i just wasnt happy with the white, but when doing my blood angels i stumbled across a better way of doing white with a blue wash. I desided to re-vamp the whole colourskeme. It looks very nice now.

If the paint looks thick to you, thats because it is, i just re-base coated over the top. Personally i think it looks fine.

Also, bases will be done later.

You can offset the thick feel by adding some shadows and highlights. a black ink inline between the pink and silver on the shoulderpads and a white highlight on the edges of the pink parts of the weapons, for example. they do look better than the previous ones. More uniform.

i dont think the painting looks this to be honest, but wanted to head off any suggestions that i might be to heavyhanded with my paint.

i think the white was a big issue with the last lot. it was all to jaring.

yeah. the helmets look better now, and hte overall feel is much better. But my eye kind of catches those lacks of shadows, profesional deformation, don't hate me

took too long? Strange, basic outlining with black ink to give the most basic shadows takes about 30 minutes per mini tops. If the mini is a dreadnought For a standard marine it takes about 5 minutes. Want me to make a tutorial on how it's done and on what areas and what it does to a mini?

thats 5 min per model extra, and to be honest when i finnish a squad i can only just be bothered to do the details. Hell, i dont do bases.

You are constantly opting for the quick way out, not sure if it's because you get bored by painting that much details or you want to use them on the board as soon as possible (it's the latter for me )

As for outlining, my mind classifies that as doing details hence why i manage to do at least that on my minis when i quickpaint them.

its more that i always have stuff to paint. I have 2000 points of eldar and tau and 4000 points of nid that i havnt even basecoated. So if i can get a quick way out, ill take it.
