Krys noticed Gloria was distracted, again.

Okay, I'm going to have to take stronger measures with this girl, Krys thought. She's letting that silver-haired witch rent space in her head, and it's not doing Glo any bit of good.

Time for me to implement what I threatened to do to her a while ago.

Since her friend needed a shake-up, Krys decided to use the judo tickle, whether Gloria wanted it or not. No better way to restore waning spirits than with a little bit of humor and silly antics.

First, however, she needed to get Gloria off her feet and into a prone position, and Krys knew exactly how to do it. The Sukui-nage or Scooping throw.

Moving swiftly, still gripping tightly at the back of her friend's collar, Krys immediately bent low to reach in-between Gloria's legs, taking hold of her leg near the upper thigh area. Taking a firm hold, Krys pivoted on her right foot, and lifted upward, taking Gloria off her feet. Gloria was taken completely by surprise by the swift application of the technique but what surprised her even more was what Krys did next.

Instead of what Gloria thought would be a sudden and jarring drop onto her back, Krys displayed amazing strength and skill with the throw by bending low and easing Gloria down with nary a bump, and before she knew it or could do anything about it, Krys was on top of Gloria, applying a Kesa-gatame or scarf hold to pin her down.

"Hey, what gives?" Gloria asked, not being able to move too well in her present position on the mats. Not that she minded being where she was. After all, she trusted her dependable gal pal and frequent sparring partner implicitly but she was not quite sure what to make of the mischievous twinkle she spotted in Krys' blue eyes.

"Krys, what are you up to?"

A sassy grin was Krys's reply, then shifting into a firmer grip to augment her pinning position, she finally said, "Wait a second, and you'll see."
