Yikes! Messing with time is always a bad idea, always a last resort. Trying to prevent something that happened you didn't like can cause something else even more unwanted. It's called the butterfly effect. Tower REALLY needs to watch that movie! 0.o

Idiot...no concept of Time-Space Theories. Think of Time as a Tree; any tree. The Trunk is the Prime Timeline, the branches the many options we have in our lifetime times infinity. No matter what Tower does all he'll do is make a new branch on the timestream, never erasing the timeline that was previously established.

What's the Genesis Wave ? Everybody's talking about.

After being beaten by Sonic again and again, Dr. Eggman used a Chaos Emerald to initiate a more mechanical and maybe even more advancedΒ form of the power of Chaos Control, in the hopes that the chaotic imbalance it would drain Sonic and other powered beings of their abilities, or "chaos factor".
The Genesis Wave was this said Chaos Control in action, allowing the user to bend reality to a certain degree. As the world faded to white thanks to the Wave's activation, Eggman used it to dimensionally divide the planet and send his enemies into power-draining cosmic rifts, but Sonic and his friends were able to avoid this and history repeated itself.
Some time later, another experiment of Eggman's to eat away the defeats he experienced across generations of time and space sent him into a white void. He was able to contact another evil, rather wily scientist who was testing a Chaos Emerald sent to his dimension, and thus with his help initiated another Genesis Wave that shifted the timeline, and intended to gather all the Emeralds to use a Super Genesis Wave to turn themselves into gods.
But thanks to Sonic again and the other scientist's nemesis, a rather excellently mega robotic hero, the doctors were foiled despite succeeding in actually activating the Super Genesis Wave on both worlds. While his ally's world was returned to normal and restored, Sonic's attempt at undoing the wave was interrupted by Eggman's overzealous interference.
The world was restored to normal, but with two major side-effects: Sonic and his friends began having conflicted memories of their world, and all the Super Genesis Wave's residual energy built up inside the planet, causing the planet's crust to shatter and float as pieces in the sky as a dark force was unleashed...

Considering how worse it made flame wars, softly sinking Sonally was a necessary evil at worst. I low-key ship it, but I'm fine with it being out of the picture. It's not like it's going to stop the fans.

I don't see how saving Maria could be considered 'evil'. Wait, the Commander was talking about Shadow going back in time to save Maria, right? Or was the Commander talking about how Shadow failedΒ to save Maria?

Tower was, ~ahem~, "worried" that Shadow would go back in time to save Maria, thus messing up the space-time continuum, AND thusly, considered evil in Tower's eyes.Β
As for the 2nd question, in the Archie comics' Sonic Universe "Shadow Fall" arc, Tower said he supposedly "made his peace" with Shadow, but, then again, this comic by Chauvel here is BASED on the GAMES, not the comics (i think), so dont take my word for it in THIS story, 'cause its, most likely, different.Β
