Dave looking a little beat up. ehehI made a mistake in his design somewhere, I know it. Just because I was paying so much attention to it, I will have made a mistake.
I don't remember what happened with his sword, every time I went to look for reference it wasn't broken. whut.
We have some awesome perspective effects going on here, or at least this will be my excuse for sucking at keeping things in scale.
Just a sketchy thing. I liked its simplicity. In that sense it stays true to the style of Homestuck.

Pretty nice, love how this has a strong sense of movement, courtesy perspective deformation which gives Dave a sense of elongation and airy linework giving ways to smooth, slick cloth folds & behaviour. Also great job with his hairstyle, just the right balance of sharp and soft.
Don't worry about the sword, think it's hard to make Homestuck weapons consistent due to their complexity...

Well I was just wondering whether it should have been in half or not, since I couldn't find a panel where this sword was in half.
But the details were hard to comprehend since the sword kinda looked like a shrunken down bitmap image OTL Probably kinda was..

Half swords are easier to draw yet undermine any sense of power, they sorta make the holder look clumsy or dorky. Full swords are harder to draw yet really help add to the holder's impression. In case Dave, both works I guess since he mixes both awesome & oddball...
Compressed Bitmap images? Definitely, that's why one should rely both on fanart & official for realizing any Homestuck art.
On other hand, your recent icon is win, very Homestuck-y (Is that a word?). What is it? (Looks like Jake consuming Jane to me though...

Yeah. Which is what confused when all the fanart I saw was of half swords and all I could find were panels with full swords.

Got into Homestuck recently but I have little time to "read" the webcomic itself so I mostly rely on summaries & lots of speculation now. Still it doesn't ruin anything and such process just makes it much more enjoyable... at least for me. Brilliant stuff.
Really... seeing it closer I get it now. The slight mix of both Jake & Roxy's characteristics for "Jaxy" is sickly clever!

I have a problem though recently. The Homestuck syndrome has gotten "stronger", can't get the kids & esp. trolls out of my head. I'm really thinking of drawing them if I have time, is this a good sign? XD

It got stronger, I find myself going over some story acts over again not just for a different impression, but b/c it's so immersive! One of the best signs of a webcomic is that past issues don't get old upon re-viewing them, and this has it!

I got into it just recently (Almost a year ago) through some "random" Net surfing & this portrait [link] .
I kept wondering what this "Homestuck" is, why it echoes the best of Konami & Nintendo games & brings out some of the best Science-Fantasy arts in us. After some more Online "research" and this [link] the rest was history...

I got into it because I originally thought it was a overrated fandom but I figured I couldn't really judge it until I'd read it.
So I did, then I ended up liking it a lot more than I had intended. =3=
BUT, I regret nothing.
