I remmeber how I would draw a sun in the corner of some scribble with a crayon or a marker. I guess this is the updated version of tht scribble which I may have never done.Related content

This is excellent use of a pointillist technique, though you haven't restricted yourself solely to this - in other areas you've branched off into standard line drawing, but the transition is absolutely seamless. If I had one complaint (and I don't) I would say that the abstract starburst around the ray-gun appendage lacks the clarity of the rest of the image, but all-in-all, this is brilliant!

It's a circular structure that's on the end of the arm coming out of the right hand side of the main face - if you imagine the drawing as a clock face it lies at about two o'clock...
