Hands, steady with confidence, efficiently wrapped the bandage around the arm that they held. Coffee brown eyes were focused on the injury, and lips were drawn in a thin line.

"Don?" Leonardo tilted his head, his eyes filling with both concern and curiosity. "Is something wrong?"

It was as if the wall of silence between them had just needed that simple sentence. Donatello took the rope, pulling himself up, letting himself speak his mind.

"You're reckless and irresponsible."

Leo blinked at the unexpected reprimand, a small frown crossing his face. "What are you talking about? I was aware that there would be danger, and I made sure that you and the others were safe-"

"Exactly." Don glanced up, cutting Leo off. "That's exactly what I mean, Leo. You made sure that we were safe, not yourself, that's why you're reckless, and irresponsible." He returned to finishing with the bandage, before moving down and starting to clean off the nasty wound on Leo's leg.

"How does that make me irresponsible? It's my job as leader to make sure that you're all safe. I think that I was being responsible in fulfilling my duty." Leo glanced down, trying to catch his brother's eyes, trying to see just what he was thinking.

"What about your safety?" Don questioned, his eyes rising to meet his brother's, his hand pausing for a moment as he waited for an answer.

Leo's brow creased slightly as he thought, searching Don's eyes for what it was he was trying to get at. "Mine? Don, I can't worry about myself when I have yo-"

"Then stop saying you were responsible. As a leader, Leo, you can't lead if you don't worry about your own safety, as well as those of your team. Just because you're our leader, it doesn't make your safety any less important than that of ours." He tilted his head up, making it easier to actually look at his brother.

"You're not just our leader, you're our brother as well. We care about what happens to you, just as much as you care about what happens to us."

Leo's tongue darted out, wetting his lips as he listened to Don speak, and he shook his head. "But…"

Donatello stood up, leaning closer, eyes smoldering with an unidentifiable emotion. "Leo, no buts. Don't just protect us, but protect yourself as well."

He gently ran his hand along the bandages he'd already placed, before resting his hand on Leo's cheek. "I care Leo, I don't want to see scars where there should be none, if you'd only watched out for yourself." He placed his forehead against Leo's, a small smile crossing his face. "You're important too, not only to our brothers, but to me as well."

He pushed closer, pulling Leo into a kiss, pouring his worry and love into it, before pulling away. "So, just be more careful, okay?"

Leo's tongue passed over his lips once more, his own chocolate gaze softening. "I can try Don."
