I did this about 3 weeks ago as a gift for my teacher and I kinda forgot about it which is why i'm uploading now...(I had scanned it the day I finished) Surprisingly it only took 3 hours, but that's cuz i rushed >.> Oh well it's my first lion so..

Ah really; actually the traditional way to paint with watercolors is very quick although I'm still unused to them, so I tend to take a while. Haha I feel the same way about oil painting although I shouldn't because I've only used oils once. Thanks for the encouragement! Hopefully someday, you'll have better luck with watercolors.

Personally, Im amazed as to how you've added the lighting and shadows, as I am a greenhorn with watercolours.
Adding on the fact that this is the first lion you've done impresses me so much! Good job! And the lion's eyes were especially well done XD
