Chapter 1: An angry confession

I sat there on the grass, blankly staring into space, but thinking of what happened today.
I suddenly felt my face become hot and tears well up in my eyes. I choked them back. Why did I have to say that today? What will Sasuke think of me now, and how am I going to face him, if ever?
I rubbed my swelling eyes until they were red, yet all the more tears started to come out.
Let me go back and remember what happened.
-FLASHBACK-
“Hey Sasuke…” Sakura nudged at him just before class was about to start, “what do you think of Naruto?” She smirked and slightly glanced at me with those emerald eyes while pushing back her bubblegum pink hair. Seeing her glance at me, the Sasuke fan girls sitting behind her did so too.
“Why do you ask?” He didn’t glance nor look at anyone or anything except his work, finding it more interesting than the ongoing conversation.
“Weeeeeeell,” Sakura and the fan girls said in unison, “we think he likesssss you.” Dragging on the ‘S’, making the statement all the more louder.
I felt my skin heating up, and blushing a slight shade of cherry.
“Awww, come on Sasuke, answer us, answer us!”

Finally, after all the nagging, the Uchiha replied to his displeasure, “I don’t really think much of him. I think he’s just an arrogant and loudmouthed kid that doesn’t know when to quit.

Did Sasuke just insult me? My temper was rising, just about to my limit of keeping it under control.
That answer was exactly the one Sakura had been looking for. She glared at me, then smirked. I could strain to hear her chuckle under her breathe. The fan girls decided to join in on all the fun too, all of them laughing.

Laughing at me. Laughing at the fact that the whole village hated me. I could almost feel the steam coming out of my ears. My self-control was now gone berserk.
Sasuke just sat there, watched me with those cold obsidian eyes, with a smirk on his face…wait, a SMIRK?!? Within a split second I replied tot hat smirk saying, “ARROGANT? LOUDMOUTHED KID? TO THINK I ACTUALLY LIKED…!”
Oh shit.
I covered my mouth in horror. I let it out. Everyone was now looking at me. Even Sasuke’s attention was on me, not on his work. He looked angry for me yelling at him, confused too. Before I did the only thing I was good at (running away) I took one look at him, and I SWEAR I saw a slight, yet unnoticeable smile on his confused face.

God, after that I couldn’t remember how long I ended up running for.
It felt like a lifetime until I tripped on a twig or something.
When I looked up, all I could see were thick blankets of pitch black.

Had I been running for that long?
I found a nice patch of grass to sit down on and cry on.

I have been sitting on this now slightly wet patch of grass for hours now. Not that anyone would care. I’m just the demon boy with the Kyuubi sealed inside of him. No one would ever care about me, even if it did seem that way, the friendship was fake.

So I sat there, on my demon ass, staring into nothing.

I felt like doing this for ev-
That voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Naruto?”
Oh. God. Please don’t tell me I need a psychiatrist. I’m already hearing his voice in my head. By his I mean Sasuke’s.
“Naruto, is that you?” Whoop. My mind playing tricks on me again.
Cold and pale hands grabbed my shoulders. I flinched and moved away. Was that my imagination too?

I looked around. Dark. No one was there, just pitch black. That was until I saw a figure of someone right next to me.
Shit. It was Sasuke. Why the hell would he be here?
“What the fuck are you doing here?” I growled, I was so surprised, but I was only going to show him my anger.

“I made my way, twenty kilometres south from the village, ON FOOT to get you. The least I could get-“
I started before he could answer, “What made you think I needed to be picked up like a little toddler from day care? I can bloody well fend for myself.” I snarled.

He looked taken aback, but bounced pack quickly, “Well, after what you said today, I thought maybe I should find you myself and give an answer to that most loving confession of yours.”
By now, the widest grin/smirk was spread wide across his face, making me want to bloody slap him.
I actually, matter of fact, walked up to that pretty arrogant face of his, me full of fury and Kyuubi inside of me too, and gave that Uchiha what he deserved, a great, fierce……
Kiss.

Our lips locked for a few moments. I felt him wriggle and twitch.
I hesitantly pulled away from him, full of heat waiting for his reply.
All I got was a shocked look. Eyebrows up, mouth agape, obviously a new experience for him. Knowing that astonished and ‘are you serious?’ look was going to be his only and final answer, I went in for another kiss.
Before our lips met, Sasuke put two of his pale fingers to my lips. I was confused, why hadn’t he pulled back before then?

Sasuke seated himself onto the grass, motioning for me too as well.

“Naruto…” He became silent. I didn’t like this silence. He looked utterly confused. Far different from the usually cool, calm and collected Uchiha everyone knows. I loved his defenceless and human look, it was so…not him.
“Naruto…” He began again frowning, “how long have you been feeling like this? Since the day we met or recently?”
I felt like he knew the answer, but wanted to hear it for me to be sure.
“Ummm, I think I’ll go with the first one.” The seriousness of this whole conversation made me want to laugh.
Why? I don’t know, maybe I crack under pressure.
Although I wouldn’t dare laugh in a situation like this with Sasuke.

During the awkward silence, I got the courage to break it, “So, I guess you should leave no-“

I felt lips. They were Sasuke’s. He was kissing me. Did I fall asleep? I don’t remember doing so. Fuck this, even if it’s a dream, I’ll just enjoy this.
As we continued kissing, I decided to join in by not only kissing him back, but exploring the unchartered regions of his mouth.

It was tongue war, we both found it to be a game. I ended the hot moment for much needed air. I looked up and started to be caught into a trance with the shimmering stars. It looked like they approved of us.

“Sasuke! Look at that!!!” I shrieked, while tapping him on the shoulder.
He looked up annoyed from me ending the kiss. “Wow. That’s beautiful”
‘Kinda like you Naruto’, Sasuke secretly thought.

“You know,” I whispered seductively, catching Sasuke’s attention, “I love you.”

He smiled. I looked at him with fearful eyes. He NEVER smiles.
“I love you too Dobe.” I sighed. That was my nickname. Only for me.
He embraced me in a hug and we both sat on that now sacred patch of grass in each other’s arms.

Wow, are those stars happy.
