Anybody here plays Homeworld? This commission gives me the opportunity to immerse in that universe again, in those vast stretches of gorgeously rendered space and stars, that lonely imposing feeling of danger - and the fantastic music composed by Paul Ruskay. It's one of the cornerstones of my thinking and a major life-changing influence on my work, both in literature and visual art.

If you're unfamiliar with Homeworld, here's a quick rundown: it's a real-time strategy game whose campaign tells the story of the Kushan people from the destroyed planet Kharak, fighting through the dangers of space back to the titular homeworld - Hiigara. At the center of it all is Karan S'jet, a neuroscientist who voluntarily became integrated into the systems of a gigantic Mothership which carries the remnant of the Kushan on their journey.
