So far, he and Yuma are the only good characters in ZEXAL, at least in my opinion. Sure, Yuma's catchphrase is annoying, but the fact that he makes mistakes makes him seem more human to me than the other protagonists, especially Never-Lose-Yusei. And the concept, while somewhat ripped from Pokemon and other similar shows, is rather interesting, especially since we have no context of why Yuma needs to help Astral defeat these cards, only that he does. I hope the series fleshes itself out as it progresses, since I want to know how these Numbers cards came into being, and if there are more like Astral out there.

Personally, I don't really see Pokemon in the plot, well except for getting all the cards compared to getting all the Pokemon, but the difference is that Ash only has to see them, Astral and Yuma actually have to get them. Personally, I see more of Megaman Starforce and Hikaru No Go being ripped off than Pokemon. Seriously, seeing the first episode, the first thing I thought was Megaman Starforce, with the whole D-Gazer thing and Yuma's pendant reminding me of Geo's pendant with its shape. Then I thought of Hikaru No Go with how Astral was trying to direct Yuma in his duel, except Hikaru actually listened to Sai, while Yuma rarely listens to Astral, to the point that Astral ended up using reverse psychology on Yuma at one point. It also reminds me of both of these with the way Astral reacts to some things because Omega-Xis and Sai have similar reactions to the things their hosts have in their world/time. XD

o.o I wasn't trying to win an arguement, I was just trying to point out that it's not as similar to Pokemon as to certain other things. This is just what I thought, and everyone can have their own opinion on what it reminds them of. XD I'm just extremely observant, especially with anime, so I was able to pick these things out easily. ^^
